We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by Howler UK. For more information, please visit their CPD Member Directory page.
Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?
Howler UK manufacture, supply and install fire safety solutions for 'temporary' or rapidly changing environments such as construction sites, fit-out projects & shipbuilding projects. From wireless evacuation alarms to fire trolleys and fire extinguishers, we provide comprehensive fire safety equipment and services. For over 40 years, we have provided safety expertise to these sectors. We are a UK-based family business working with major contractors on projects in the UK and Europe, and are proud to manufacture products that support fire safety and protection.
Why did you become a CPD provider?
Our deep industry knowledge means we're often the first point of call for guidance on compliance, regulations, and best practices. We've shared this insight through whitepapers and thought leadership for years—so becoming a CPD provider was the natural next step. It allows us to deliver accredited training that empowers teams to stay compliant and safe on site, while supporting our work in the construction, fit-out, and shipbuilding sectors.
How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?
Implementing CPD accreditation at Howler was all about structuring our expertise for our clients. Here's how we made it happen:
Research & Alignment – We started by reviewing CPD standards and understanding what professionals in construction, fit-out, and shipbuilding need most. This ensured our training would deliver real-world impact.
Content Development – Our team transformed decades of safety knowledge into structured learning modules, backed by practical insights and compliance best practices. Every course was designed to be engaging, relevant, and actionable.
Accreditation Process – We partnered with The CPD Certification Service, to validate our content against industry benchmarks such as JCoP and HSG168. This gave our clients confidence that our training meets recognised standards.
Continuous Improvement – CPD isn't a one-time achievement. We regularly update our courses to reflect evolving regulations and safety innovations, ensuring learners stay ahead of the curve. The result is accredited training that empowers teams and strengthens compliance in our sector.
How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?
CPD accreditation has refined our own learning objectives. We've moved from simply sharing safety knowledge to seeking out more knowledge from other experts in the industry—so we are all learning all the time—and creating structured, measurable training that meets recognised standards. Our focus is now on continuous improvement for ourselves and delivering accredited learning that empowers professionals to stay compliant and safe too.
