Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?
The Association provides a forum for the technical and commercial development and promotion of the metal-based roofing and cladding industry. The members are involved in the development of national and international standards and the provision of technical guidance for specifiers and end users of products and systems for the envelope of industrial, commercial and warehouse building sectors. Training and the provision of CPD material to advance competency of those involved in the sector is also a major focus for both members and the wider industry.
Why did you become a CPD provider?
Assessed CPD features high on the agenda of member companies and the provision of assessed CPD is a key element for the individuals, companies and end users who specify products and systems from MCRMA member companies.
How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?
The Association provides online technical guidance documents which are CPD assessed and CPD recognition is awarded for the successful completion of online Q&As. The Association is also in the process of having a three-day practical course CPD assessed and approved. The course is aimed at new starters and those who need a base level technical and practical understanding of the products and systems and the installation of component parts of metal-based roofing and cladding.
How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?
Assessment of the current range of CPD modules has provided the MCRMA with a review process and quality check to ensure that technical information and guidance is at a level which is appropriate for those individuals which member companies interface with. The CPD badge also ensures that individuals can, without doubt, qualify for CPD learning and competency levels.
